September 18, 2011

Bilal Khan interpreting Junoon‘s “Aap aur Hum” in his beautiful voice for Junoon’s 20th Anniversary album. The song is based on a riff from their song “Aap aur Hum” and Bilal has tried to rework it into something new while keeping in mind the essence of Junoon’s music. The album comes out on September 30th and the proceeds that will be raised from this album will be donated to Salman and Samina’s Charity for Education.

Salman Ahmad upon hearing Bilal’s interpretation said:

“One of my favorite young, hot and new Pakistani vocalists is Bilal Khan. Bilal has interpreted Junoon’s “Aap aur Hum” and rightfully, now calls it “Dil Main Meray” – Bilal’s soulful, ethereal and deeply emotional vocal melody sits seamlessly with the feel and groove of Aap aur Hum. Bilal has an emotional depth which far exceeds his years (he’s in his early 20’s).

Bilal’s voice can melt the Baltoro glacier. He will be proudly featured on Junoon-20. All the artists being featured on Junoon-20 have donated their services for SSGWI’s A.R.T. projects in Pakistan.

Music is the balm and the unity of Pakistan. it helps to transcend the noise, divisions, wounds & sorrows.”
