Atif Aslam Might Collaborate With John Mayer, Coldplay & Jimmy Page

“We are planning to collaborate with John Mayer, Coldplay and Jimmy Page (the founder of Led Zeppelin), but nothing is finalised yet,” tells Atif Aslam in an interview with Hindustan Times.

“Whenever I’m in the US, I keep aside a week to work only on my collaborations with artistes. Be it raising money or tying up with musicians, I’m doing everything on my own,” added Atif Aslam who is the face of the Sonic Peacemakers’ “Pakistan America: Peace Through Music Project” – a project aimed at bringing peace and understanding between the two countries through music.

Lanny Cordola and Atif Aslam also have plans to take U2 on board soon. “I’m keeping my fingers crossed because, after all, they are busy people,” says Atif Aslam.

The work for the conceptual album “The Dreamer Awakes” has started in full swing for which Atif Aslam has already recorded four songs with the ex-members of Guns N’ Roses — Slash, Gliby Clarke and Chris Pitman. “With the initiative, I plan to bring Pakistani singers — including our Sufi singers — and American artistes together for musical collaborations.”

The first few songs will be released by October or November.
