Atif Aslam all set to perform with Fareed Ayaz Qawwal

Atif Aslam is all set to perform live at the upcoming Engro Excellence Awards (EEA) with one of Pakistan’s finest Qawwals, Ustad Ghulam Fariduddin Ayaz Al-Hussaini aka Fareed Ayaz. After successfully entertaining the crowd with his renditions of the famous Qawwalis, he will be sharing the stage with a Qawwal for the first time. Fareed Ayaz who belongs to Qawwal Bachchon Ka Gharana of Delhi, performs various genres of classical music, such as dhrupad, khayal, tarana, thumri and dadra. Fans of both the artists will be excited to see them performing together live on stage.

Other than Atif, Pakistani musicians like Sanam Marvi, Fariha Pervez, Ayesha Omar and many more will be performing at the event. Ayesha will be performing Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s “Lab Key Azad”. She told The Express Tribune,

“I am performing one song for sure and that is one of my personal favourites which was originally sung by Tina Sani almost 20 years ago.”

Shahi Hasan is the music producer of the event. He revealed the musical line up for the celebration to the Express Tribune,

“We are using a lot of versatile artistes that include Sanam Marvi, Fariha Pervez, Ayesha Omar and many more. The concept is to use music from different genres like classical, folklore, pop to create varying medleys with a contemporary take on classic songs by artistes like Tina Sani.”

Catwalk Production CEO Frieha Altaf told Daily Times,

“Its been quite a roller coaster ride conceptualising, designing and executing the EEAs, but rest assured, it truly will be a night to remember!”
