Hammad Khan – “Hoping someone will help distribute Slackistan in Pakistan”

October 13, 2010

Pakistan’s first slacker film, Slackistan, has already gathered enough international publicity with publications and premieres around the world. It is an independent feature film produced by Khan himself and his wife in an attempt to exhibit different side of Pakistan.

Even though the film has already been premiered at Cannes Film Festival, Abu Dhabi Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival in the UK, the South Asian Film Festival in San Fransisco and the International Film Festival of India in Goa, Khan is still hoping for someone to step up for the distribution of Slackistan in Pakistan.

That aside, I definitely plan to do charity screenings in the three major cities – Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad – to raise funds for flood rehabilitation. So that’s something that will happen regardless of when the film releases (in Pakistan).” further adds Khan in an interview with Express Tribune.

Theatrical rights of the film at UK have already been acquired by Mara Pictures, a boutique distributor focusing on South Asian themed films
