Jehangir Aziz Hayat: Defining The true Soul of metal with “Read Between The Lines” (Album Review)

The young man from Peshawar has started his music journey by releasing his debenture “Read Between the Lines” recently. The album in total contains twelve tracks, with three of these being promotional tracks and already uploaded. I haven’t touched metal genre of music, but this time, it sounds good to write something on hard metal. I have been mostly reviewing other genres of music. The opening tracks “Bringing me Down” and “Frozen Waters” define the soul of hard rock metal. These are the tracks that a true lover of metal music would really relish. The track “Pretend to be” is the one that beautifully defines Jehangir’s vocals, being a softer and lighter number. “Guardians of the Gates” is a leisurely number, with measured vocals. The album doesn’t create a monotone sensation, but defines a variety. Every single song is different from the other one. “I remember” starts with a monotone, but immediately changes its way in the middle. “Never Change” is very metallic in nature and too much riff in it. “Show me something Real’ is a very slow and soft track, with glitzy vocals. The closing tracks “Pouring on memory lane” and “See You Soon” are again tremendous items. At times, one wonders if it is really a first attempt of a very young and vigorous musician. The best thing found in the album is versatility: Each song is different from the proceeding or following song. The closing track “See You soon” is the lengthiest track of the album. My personal favorite is, “Pretend to Be” from the album. I wonder if he has taken training for his vocals, because they are already perfect vocals for metal music. Instead of keeping the last track “See You soon” too lengthy, there could have been two separate tracks, each of 4 plus minutes, with in all thirteen tracks. If one listens to a number for so long, that creates a kind of monotony in the listener. The whole album is overall a dazzling endeavor by Jehangir.
