Ali Zafar: What fans hear is 40% of what I created in studio

February 25, 2011

Art is a universal language. An artist interprets that language. Some readers glance in awe, some think only flaw. In his latest album, Ali Zafar explores his mystical side by touching upon Sufi and Semi-classical music, and invites you all to drift into a mystical land of melody and soul. The artist displayed the more mature side of him in ‘Jhoom’ which was mastered at world’s famous ‘Abbey Road Studios‘ by Alex Wharton and has already been declared a hit. All the songs were recorded, mixed and engineered at Alif Studios by Ali Zafar except Nahin Ray Nahin, Allah Hoo and Yar Dhadhi Ishq. But Ali is not happy with the quality of his music. Ali Zafar – Jhoom (KM Album Review)

It’s not about the King of Pop. It’s all about Pakistan’s Prince of Pop.

Ali Zafar first rose to real fame with his first album Huqa Pani (Shisha water?) in 2003, becoming a instant hit ending up selling around 600,000 copies worldwide and winning several major awards and nominations in the process. The artist then displayed the more mature side of him with the second album Masty (Fun) released in 2006. Looking at the album cover, the only thing that matured was his pecks. But it was an improvement nevertheless.

The new album, Jhoom starts a new chapter.

Ali Zafar: Katrina Kaif is a very hardworking

While focussing on his first love – Music, the Prince of Pop, Ali Zafar‘s first sufi album, ‘Jhoom‘ was recently released by Yash Raj Music in India and worldwide and by Ali’s own label Alif Records in Pakistan. Ali who is also shooting for his second feature film is all praise for his co-star Katrina Kaif, one of the reigning divas in Bollywood, as Ali is shooting with her and Imran Khan in ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan‘, a typical romantic comedy.

Ali Zafar told in an interview with TOI,

“The film is a romantic comedy, a very family kind of set-up. Imran and me play brothers. I’m a very charming and flamboyant guy in the film who is very confused about what he wants from life.”

“Both Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif are lovely people to work with. Not just the film, they make the whole experience of working in it very cherishable.”
