Finally after many ifs and buts, and a considerable amount of delay from its usual time slot, Coke Studio Season 6 once again returns with a promise to hit back even harder.
Last year there were even rumours that Coke Studio might not be happening at all but it was only 2 weeks ago when it got confirmed as the ‘press conference-cum-launch event’ for the season 6 was announced through invites to media fraternity.
Coke Studio Pakistan Season 6 features the following artists: Abrar-ul-Haq, Alamgir, Ali Azmat, Asad Abbas, Atif Aslam, Ayesha Omar, Fariha Pervez, Muazzam Ali Khan, Rostam Mirlashari, Rustam Fateh Ali Khan, Saeen Zahoor, Sanam Marvi, Sumru Ağıryürüyen, Umair Jaswal, Zara Madani, Zeb and Haniya, and Zoe Viccaji.

Coca-Cola Pakistan proudly announces the return of Pakistan’s most anticipated music platform, Coke Studio, at an acclaimed press conference where as sixth season of exciting talent, diverse musical influences and dynamic performances will be aired October 2013.
This years’ Coke Studio voyage will witness a fusion of Eastern, Western and regionally inspired music for which the platform has come to be renowned. However, this season goes deeper in its journey, exploring the international heritage of popular local music genres, tracing these global influences that have left an indelible impact on Pakistan’s national and cultural musical identity. To that end, Coke Studio’s cross-genre Pakistani musical talent will be joined by international musicians trained in both contemporary, and traditional instrumentation.
This year’s Lux Style Awards were held at the Expo Center in Karachi. The awards started with an amazing rap performance by Entity Paradigm‘s Ahmed Ali Butt, who was also the host for the night. The highlight of the show was Ali Zafar’s tribute to the late King of Ghazal Mehdi Hassan sahab.
This year, the awards for music category, especially that for Best Emerging Talent, received deserving attention. The big winners at the awards were Ali Zafar, who received the award for the Best Music Album for “Jhoom” from Mekaal Hasan and Zoe Viccaji, and Quratulain Balouch, who received two awards – Song of the Year and Best Original Soundtrack – for none other than “Woh Humsafar Tha,” which was produced by Waqar Ali for the drama series “Humsafar.”
In response to the goal of “being present in all countries of the world”, the famous Spanish clothing brand, MANGO opened its first outlet here in the metropolitan at the Dolmen city Mall Clifton on Thursday, 5th July.
After bringing international brands like Lifestyle, Splash and Baby shop, Alkaram Pakistan brings another famous high street fashion brand, MANGO to the metropolis. Famous actress, Mahira Khan along with Mr. Abid Omer (CEO Mango Pakistan) and Sean Hurley (Expansion director of Mango) did a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of MANGO’s first outlet in the country.

Adnan Malik may not always be in the limelight, but he’s definitely one of the people who brings things into the light. He is the director of AMP, a Video Producer at Pakistan’s renowned music platform Coke Studio, a television host/model and an Asia Society Young Leader of the World.
I got the chance to interview him and ask him about his profession, his work at Coke Studio, and his current (and upcoming) projects.
