Jhol – Nasha (KM Single Review)

Nasha - JholSome time back I had a chance to listen to a song named Nasha by a local underground band somewhere on radio if my memory serves me well. The band’s name was Jhol and I instantly found their sound catchy and something that could remain in your head for some time. And then recently I got to hear that they are coming up with a video which was said to be something that was never made before in Pakistan. Although I don’t get much time to listen to underground bands but this was something that I specially took out time to watch and I must say that they didn’t disappoint me.

Jhol was formed back in 2010 when couple of like-minded kids got together to pursue their common dream of music. It was the mixture of funk/rock that was going to be their identity. Jhol started with Rohail Lashari and Jahanzeb Sukhera on Guitars and were later joined by Imran Iqbal on vocals.

Is it all about money? (‘Paisay Ki Game’ – Single Review)

February 18, 2013

We, as a human being, always get affected by what is happening around us. And our reactions translate the whole situation around us into some medium of art. They speak about the volume or intensity of the situation which you are feeling inside. Excuse me! I know it’s a bit too serious thing to start of with, for a music review. But this is something to which every one of us can relate to and musicians are no exception to it. Lately it’s been really a trend to release songs that are politically motivated and have a social message in them in a light way.

Omer Nadeem – Kin Raaston Pe (KM Single Review)

September 2, 2012

By Ahmad Uzair

Just like every field of life, luck and fortune plays an equally important part in music arena too. At times, the music or for that matter the singer too, might not be that talented but it’s just the luck and your fate which takes you to simply another level. It’s sort of a you-miss-I-hit thing. These cases might be little and be called as exceptions but the opposite ones are pretty common.

Jal: Farhan and Beyond

May 9, 2012

By Hani Arif

We were all sad when we heard that Farhan had quit Jal and decided to go solo. The shock factor remained intact as to why it had happened despite achieving the highest musical representation in Pakistan i.e. getting featured on Coke Studio. Do you ask the reason why we were all sad?

Firstly: Essence of Bands: Farhan was made by Jal and he had betrayed such a cordial relationship that he shared with his band mates, it was as if this can happen with Jal, it can happen with anyone else.

Farhan Saeed – Pi Jaon (KM Single Review)

By Ahmad Uzair

The solo journey continues for Farhan Saeed as he comes out with yet another hit single named “Pee Jaun”. This is his second video as a solo artist and a much anticipated one as well. This song has already been a huge hit with its concert video released earlier on. As the name says, this track is all about forgetting the past and moving on. It is written and composed by Saad Sultan and Momina Mustehsan (female part).
