Instead of record companies, the artists are turning to sponsors and the trend of cover songs is gaining momentum. Cover songs are a great way to show off your skills and pay tribute to your heroes, but it wasn’t a very common practice until very recently. Indian Folk Artist Raghu Dixit & Others Praise Zeb and Haniya

The Raghu Dixit Project, pioneered by Raghu Dixit, is one of the India’s best contemporary folk bands. They define themselves as “India’s biggest cultural export” being a folk band that gets quite a lot of international listening. The popular group from India has found their newly favorite artist in Zeb and Haniya, the folk duo from Pakistan, after their performance in the second episode of “The Dewarists“.

Raghu’s music is an amalgamation of Indian ethnic music and styles from different parts of the world. He made Bollywood debut from the movie Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge in 2011.

Qawwal Maestro and Bollywood Singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan takes a journey back through his life as he chats to BBC Asian Network’s Sonia Deol. This red button programme includes exclusive rare footage of Rahat performing with his uncle, the late great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and culminates with a rousing performance of his award winning Bollywood hit, ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’, recorded during his recent tour.

During the shooting, Rahat reveals intimate memories of his time growing up with Nusrat alongside their extended family in Faisalabad, Pakistan and his emotional first experiences of Qawwali music. Rahat tells the story of his transition from Qawwali to Bollywood music and how his future projects include going back to his roots with a double album of Qawwali music featuring the poetry of Mirza Ghalib and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Saeed Zaman is an independent Music Producer and make electronic/rock tracks. He is a song-writer, a producer and records and mixes everything himself on his tracks. This is song is called “Time Warp” and it’s from his debut album “Cosmic Trilogy” which features samples from an interview given by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He passed away on August 16th 1997. This song is dedicated to Nusrat’s Memory.
