We were all sad when we heard that Farhan had quit Jal and decided to go solo. The shock factor remained intact as to why it had happened despite achieving the highest musical representation in Pakistan i.e. getting featured on Coke Studio. Do you ask the reason why we were all sad?
Firstly: Essence of Bands: Farhan was made by Jal and he had betrayed such a cordial relationship that he shared with his band mates, it was as if this can happen with Jal, it can happen with anyone else.

The solo journey continues for Farhan Saeed as he comes out with yet another hit single named “Pee Jaun”. This is his second video as a solo artist and a much anticipated one as well. This song has already been a huge hit with its concert video released earlier on. As the name says, this track is all about forgetting the past and moving on. It is written and composed by Saad Sultan and Momina Mustehsan (female part).
The song begins. You hear the guitar, followed by an overused drum loop. Suddenly before you know it there’s the “alaap” which an incredibly pained singer croons, his voice woefully telling the tale of sorrow and gloom. And before the song even gets into its second minute you hear yourself say “Is that Atif Aslam?”. And thus begins the story of the newest genre of music – The “Atif Aslam” genre.
Atif began initially with Addat, as a member of the band Jal.
The pop/rock band, Jal has just released a new music video for their song “Mahiya” from the album “Boondh”, which was released back in 2007. The most interesting thing about the video, which has received mixed reviews from the fans, is the announcement of the release date of Jal’s third music album. “Piyaas”, as mentioned in the music video, will be released almost a decade after the band’s debut, in March, 2012.
