Lineup of Coke Studio Season 2

March 10, 2009
cokestudio02_1024x7681

cokestudio02_1024x7681First season of Coke Studio was based on mainstream artists and featured experienced musicians. This season however features new musicians and some underground too. I think Coke Studio always wanted to bring new musicians but they didn’t want to expirement that at early stage and wanted to make a stronger base for the show first. First season got remarkable fame and so Rohail Hyatt picked up young musicians for the second season  as he wanted. New line up of Coke Studio includes Omran Shafique of Mauj, Zeb and Haniya, Maryam Kizilbash (Mano), Jaffer Zaidi of Kaavish, Asad Ahmed of Karavan and Noori. I believe Coke Studio’s 2nd Season should be 100 percent more fun :). It would be truly fun to have Zeb and Haniya and Maryam Kizilbash in the show and Omran Shafique has always been my favorite.

Noori to perform in Coke Studio Season 2!

March 10, 2009
cokestudio02_1024x768

cokestudio02_1024x768Yes it is fully confirmed that noori would be performing at the second season of Coke Studio sessions. It is indeed an honor and also a great opportunity for the band to rethink and restructure the existing noori numbers. The most exciting thing for us, though, is that the brothers would again be reuniting with Gumby for these performances. Other musicians include Asad Ahmed, Omran Shafique, Manoo, Jafar Zaidi and many more extremely talented maestros .

Hats off to Rohail Hayat…

It is going to be one amazing Jam!!!

Yesterday was the Jam

Mekaal Hasan Band’s album ‘Saptak’ to be released with ‘Chal Bulleya’ video

March 10, 2009

The month of March will see the shooting of the lead off single for Saptak titled Chal Bulleya. This will be a concept video directed by Bilal Lashari and features an all celebrity cast. This very unique video will take a fair amount of time to finish in it’s editing and post stages and this means that we have to now push the release of Saptak by the few months until this video goes on air, since we ideally would like to launch Saptak after Chal Bulleya airs. The wait will be worth it though and we will be uploading images from the video and a complete page will be dedicated to the video itself with the various characters and their respective stories detailed in the page.

Touching base with Strings

Maheen Sabeeh, Karachi

For the record, Strings remain pop’s most reliable and melodic torchbearers. Their comeback album, Koi Aanay Wala Hai, which released last year, has done extremely well for itself and for the band, epitomizing them to new heights of stardom.

Another Bollywood single by Call the band (xulfi) – Dhadke Jiya Ye Rasta

February 26, 2009

Xulfi has once again made a song for an indian movie called “Aloo Chaat”. The video teaser is out on Tv channels. The song ofcourse sucked like previous two but better than them. I was seeing call on channel “Play” yesterday on “PMC (Pakistan Music Charts)” with their PMC sponsored toys in their hands and their bollywood songs being played at the back, dancing and enjoying their patheticism. The band call is nothing but a complete waste on society I am glad they did make some bucks during this course of transition from rock to bollywood.

Download: Aloo Chaat – Dhadhke Jiya Ye Rasta (teaser)

I wouldn’t have hated the song this much if it was by someone else but Call i expected different.
