Social Pagal Is Expected To Be Played To Packed Audience at Al-Hamra Arts Council
For all the Lahori theatre lovers, there is certainly some quality drama coming your way as the famous local play ‘Social Pagal’ is all set to make a comeback this month. Written and directed by Shah Fahad, Social Pagal is the same play that clean swept the LUMS DRAMAFEST 2011 few years back. This festival saw the play winning in the categories of Best Play, Best Team, Best Actor, and Best Script writing.
As evident from the name, Social Pagal is a take on the ‘psycho of your inner self’. It brings in a lot of aspects of our daily routine that have virtually left us on the verge of being socially disoriented.
Their official Facebook page also gives you a hint about the plot of play that sounds pretty interesting and something to relate to.
“Six alleged psychopaths are caught & brought into a place where life imprisonment is considered as the best treatment. The money-obsessed Madam DP aided by the three guards informs the psychos that they would be monitored through cameras for half an hour before being permanently sent to the specific “treatment centers” according to the analysis. This half hour can either be the last period of their freedom, or a ray of hope for them to prove their sanity to the camera’s eye of the ‘sane’.”
Social Pagal is expected to be played to a packed audience from 23rd September till 27th of September at Hall # 2, Al-Hamra Arts Council, Mall Road, Lahore. The Entry time is 6:00 pm.
