Strings to Compose an Item Number & A Qawwali

September 30, 2011

As informed earlier, Strings will be doing some of the music for “Shootout at Wadala which is a sequel of “Shootout at Lokhandwala“, a film based on a real-life gun battle between the gangsters of Mumbai and the police. This is not the first time when Strings will be seen working with Sanjay Gupta, as the duo has previously composed music for “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and “Zinda“.

It is being said that this time around Strings will not be lending one of their songs for the movie, but will be composing the entire album for the film. That said, they will not be singing all the tracks, but composing. New reports suggest another fun fact: Strings will also be composing an uplifting qawwali and an item song for the film.

Last time we composed only Aakhri Alvida. Now we’ll be making around four to five songs. We might sing a couple of them but for the rest we’ll be looking for appropriate singers. Genres are quite varied. There’s a celebration cum item number and an uplifting qawwalli,” informed Bilal in an interview with DNAIndia.

We have also heard from authentic sources that Strings have also sent in a new version of Duur for consideration.
