5 Minutes with the RamLal Boys [Interview]

We sat down with the RamLal boys who recently performed a session for Uth Records and talked about their work, experience with Uth Records and possible future endeavors.

1. How did you begin? How do you define your sound?

Ans: We have been friends since our childhood and used to play music together back then. We actually learnt how to play music with each other. However, we used to play different genres of music. Muhammad Agha used to play for a band called Seth, a death metal band, and Mohammad Sibtain played classic rock. We were always in awe of each other’s music and respected each other immensely. We ended up merging our musical abilities and came up with RamLaL. The sound of RamLaL is a cocktail of the social dynamics of the country we live in as well as all the music we have been exposed to while growing up.

2. What influences your music?

Ans: Beatles, Guns n Roses and all the veterans of the local music industry.

3. How do you find Uth Records? How was your work experience with them?

Ans: They were really helpful and we appreciate the opportunity they gave us and all the upcoming talented people in the industry.

4. Have you been contacted by any big name other than Uth Records?

Ans: We had been approached by a number of people but because of our production background and our vision of the way we want to be heard, we could not find any suitable options to satisfy us, till we were approached by Ufone Uth Records. They had the right mix of diverse and experienced musicians who would fulfill our musical aspirations.

5. Any new upcoming projects?

Ans: Be on the lookout for RamLight! (laughing hysterically)
