Ali Zafar's Jhoom Being Mastered at Abbey Road StudiosPrince of Pop, Ali Zafar‘s most awaited third studio album “Jhoom” is being mastered at the world’s most famous recording studios “Abbey Road Studios”. Jhoom is a Sufi album and comprises of live orchestration. The album includes songs which are composed, mixed, arranged and written by Ali himself and are currently under mastering process at Abbey Road Studios.

Abbey Road Studios is a recording studio located at 3 Abbey Road, St John’s Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by a predecessor of British music company EMI, its present owner. The studios were then known as EMI Studios until EMI formally changed their name to Abbey Road Studios in 1970. It is most notable for being the venue in the 1960s for innovative recording techniques adopted by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and others.

Abbey Road Studios is most closely associated with the Beatles, who recorded almost all of their albums and singles there between 1962 and 1970 and utilised Abbey Road studios to full effect. The Beatles named their 1969 album, Abbey Road, after the street where the studio is located (the recording studio would only be named Abbey Road after the Beatles record in 1970).

Pink Floyd recorded most of their late 1960s to mid-1970s albums, returning only in 1988 for mixing and overdubbing subsequent albums.

The studio has been used by many famous musicians like Cliff Richard, The Shadows, The Scorpions, Leona Lewis, Dave Matthews, Dido, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Iron Maiden, James Blunt, John Mayer, Kanye West, The Killers, Michael Jackson, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Spice Girls, U2 and others.

Many film scores have been recorded at Abbey Road Studios like Star Wars Episode V Soundtrack, Raiders of the Lost Ark and more recently Robin Hood, Iron Man 2, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra recorded every Star Wars soundtrack (from 1977 to 2005) at the Abbey Road Studios.

Ali Zafar has done the final mixing of the album and is happy about it. He said excitedly,

“My album jhoom is being mastered at the world famous “abbey road studios” today. So glad that finally i have nothing left to mix”

The mastering process is the final stage in the recording chain where a finished master is created and the CD, DVD, vinyl or audio file master parts are produced for manufacture.

This process involves editing and compiling the required mixes and tracks in production order, cleaning the audio to remove any unwanted blemishes or corruptions and polishing the mixed sound with equalisation, compression and other outboard processing. This is the last opportunity before manufacture or release to ensure that the music fits together seamlessly and that it is presented in the best possible sound.

Ali Zafar is leaving no stone unturned to make his upcoming album, Jhoom timeless.
