Date: 31st of January

Venue: Forum, Karachi.

Winner goes to the world finals to South Africa

“Red Bull Street Style“ brought to you by Djuice is looking for the world’s best
freestyle kickers. Talented youngsters juggling soccer balls with dazzling performances can be seen everywhere around the world these days. A quick heel pass or spectacular bicycle kick as Ronaldinho, Beckham and others have been doing for years is no longer considered ”state of the art”. Freestyle Football has broken through to the next level and has turned ball control skills into a new form of higher art. ”Red Bull Street Style” is offering an international platform for the world’s most talented ball artists to test their skills against each other where Individual creativity is vital. 3 minutes, 2 players, 1 ball: In each “battle” two players square off in a one-on-one duel against each other. They take alternating 20-second turns with the ball, using their time to show off the best of their artistic moves to the sounds of break dance and hip hop music. In the finals, the judges will be evaluating the three minutes flow based on control, creativity and style. The winner advances to the next round. There are no limits – other than the standard prohibition on the use of hands and a requirement that the ball and performer stay within a 7-metre wide (27-foot) Competition Area. Celebrity judges for the competition include Nomi Ansari for Style & Benazir Azeem for Creativity. Kneegrab, Shoulder Slide and Around the World – the best Freestyle Footballers are able to let the ball dance in gravity-defying fashion over their bodies and the best make it all appear effortless. “Red Bull Street Style” brings together all these “crazy guys” on one stage. In more than 40 countries around the world – and for the first time in Pakistan, there will be a national contest on January 31st to find worthy representatives, without regard to age or gender, to qualify for spots in the world finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil in April 2010.
