faraz-anwar-the-newsIt’s an online competition to discover talent. And from Pakistan, ace guitarist, Faraz Anwar, who also fronts prog-metal band Mizraab, has made it to the finals. Yes, Faraz Anwar has taken charge and entered Online Knock-Out Round in Guitar Idol 2009. His instrumental ‘Autumn Madness’ garnered him hundreds of votes. And the heat is still on!

Guitar Idol 2009, a show which not only discovers hidden talent but one which will give the 12 finalists to battle it out live at the upcoming London International Music Show later this summer.

But Faraz hasn’t made the cut for the top 12 just yet. According to the rules, there are 120 finalists, out of which 12 will head to London for the live final. Four will be selected on pure votes while eight will make the cut via the judges panel. Faraz has made it this far and voting is on till May 5, 2009.

This is a big one for Faraz Anwar, who has played with some of the biggest names in Pakistani music including Strings, Ali Haider, Vital Signs, Sajjad Ali to name a few.
